Edition 2025: Sign up has begun !

A 2022 Edition that kept all its promises

The 25th edition of the Mondial des Pinots (organised by VINEA Association) was held in Sierre from August 26th-28th. Over the course of three days the judges tasted and scored 921 Pinot wines made by 300 producers from
21 countries. The jury, composed of some 45 members from 13 countries, was impressed by the wines presented and awarded no less than 3 Grand Gold medals, 153 Gold medals and 103 Silver medals!

Pinot Blanc from the Czech Republic wins Best Wine of Mondial des Pinots 2021

The tasting sessions of the 24th Mondial des Pinots competition were held place in Sierre from 27 – 29 August, featuring 1037 entries from 335 producers and 20 different countries. The 47 judges from 15 different countries were impressed by the wines and awarded no less than 10 Grand Gold medals, 154 Gold and 143 Silver – a first in the competition’s history.

Switzerland in the spotlight with a Pinot Noir from Chablais winning Best Wine in Show

The tasting sessions for the 23rd edition of the Mondial des Pinots competition took place in Sierre from September 4th – 6th 2020. A total of 1132 wines from 21 countries took part, and the Pinot Noir from Domaine les Afforêts (Aigle) well and truly triumphed.

Switzerland, home of Pinot wines

The tasting sessions for the 23rd edition of the Mondial des Pinots took place in Sierre from September 4th – 6th 2020. Over the three days, 58 judges (of which half were non-Swiss) evaluated 1132 wines from 21 countries. Local wines led the pack in terms of awards, taking all six of this year’s Grand Gold medals, and 74 of the 92 Gold medals.

Two competitions are better than one!

The combined tasting sessions for the two international competitions organised by VINEA Association – namely the Mondial du Merlot et Assemblages and the Mondial des Pinots – will take place in Sierre from September 4th – 6th. Over the three days, 80 judges divided into two groups will taste and assess no less than 1643 wines from 26 countries.

Mondial des Pinots 2020: competition postponed

The current Coronavirus situation means that we have to make some changes.

The Mondial des Pinots competition is postoned. The tastings will take place at the same time as the Mondial du Merlot & Assemblages, from September 04th-06th 2020, in Sierre.

Further to this decision, the deadline for entries and sending samples has been extended to July 6th 2020.

Red or rosé, white or gris, still or sparkling, or even Meunier: all the wines of the Pinot family are welcome at the 23rd edition of the Mondial des Pinots competition, to be held in Sierre from August 14th – 16th this year.

This year’s competition will be presided over by Klaus Herrmann, founder and director of German wine trade magazine WEIN + MARKT. An oenologist and wine grower’s son, Klaus is also a member of the board of directors of the German Association of oenologists.
